3 month old sleep schedule

Many 3 month olds have a noticeably longer first stretch at night and a more predictable morning. Bedtime usually starts creeping earlier as the evening catnap gets harder to fit in.

What helps at this age

  • Try to start the day at roughly the same time each morning.
  • Put baby down drowsy but awake some of the time so falling asleep in the crib becomes familiar.
  • Keep the bedtime routine short: 15–30 minutes is plenty.

This is a common age for a nap transition.

These are typical ranges. If your baby seems unusually sleepy, is hard to wake, snores loudly, pauses in breathing, or isn't feeding or growing well, talk to your pediatrician.
