Quick Summary
Sample 13-Month-Old Sleep Schedule
Based on a 7:00 AM wake-up time. Many 13-month-olds are transitioning from 2 naps to 1 nap around this age.
Understanding Wake Windows for 13-Month-Olds
At 13 months, toddlers can handle much longer wake windows than babies. Watch for transition signs:
- Two naps schedule: 3/3.5/4 hour wake windows (morning/midday/evening)
- One nap schedule: 5/5 hour wake windows (before and after nap)
- Transition signs: Fighting morning nap, early morning wakings, bedtime battles
The 2-to-1 Nap Transition
Most toddlers transition from 2 naps to 1 nap between 12-18 months. Signs your child is ready: consistently refusing one nap, taking very short naps, or difficulty falling asleep at bedtime.
During the transition, alternate between 1-nap and 2-nap days based on wake-up time and mood. Push the single nap later gradually (start at 11:30 AM, move to 12:30 PM over 2-3 weeks).
