Wake Windows for 12-Month-Olds

At 12 months, wake windows are 3 to 4.5 hours:

  • Morning wake window: 3 hours - after night sleep
  • Midday wake window: 4 hours - between naps
  • Evening wake window: 4.5 hours - longest before bedtime

Nap Transition Coming

Between 12-18 months, many toddlers transition from 2 naps to 1 nap. Signs your child might be ready:

  • • Refusing the morning nap but still taking afternoon nap
  • • Taking a long time to fall asleep for one of the naps
  • • Waking up earlier in the morning
  • • Taking short naps (less than 30 minutes)

Don't rush this transition! Most children aren't fully ready until closer to 15-18 months.
